OUR STORY

The practice is owned and managed by Andy Gay, At the time of opening the practice Andy had spent the last 20 years working for a number of local architects practices and Property developers in an architectural role. Andy's personal CV is listed below.

2021-2025

I was working for Fluid London as an Associate. At this time I was responsible for a team predominantly working on the technical delivery of a number of high end residential schemes for various local and national developers.

2017-2021

I was working for gdm Architects as a senior architectural technician. At this time I was responsible for a number of residential and commercial projects including Costa Coffee drive thru's, a new build Premier Inn in Maresfield, East Sussex and various residential schemes.

2015-2017

I was working for Bond Bryan Architects as a senior architectural technician. At this time I was responsible for a number of education projects including extending Stratton Upper School in Biggleswade to provide a new science block and the Holy Family Catholic School in Walthamstow to provide a new sports hall and additional class rooms. I was also responsible for the planning application for a new multi storey car park adjacent to Canterbury West station. These projects were all designed using 3D BIM modelling software.

2008-2015

Whilst at Axiom I worked on a variety hotel, restaurant and public house projects for the Whitbread Group (Premier Inn) and Marstons PLC, Most notably producing the Planning, building regulations, tender and construction drawings for the conversion of Sir Alan Suger's redundant office building in Brentwood, Essex into a 122 bedroom hotel complete with Restaurant, The construction detailing and building control drawings for a 100 bedroom hotel in Chelmsford, a Beefeater restaurant and Premier Inn Hotel in Uxbridge and 10 Marstons public houses around the country. I was also tasked with overseeing the construction of a number of Premier Inn Hotels in locations including Bury St Edmunds, Basingstoke, Lavington street - London, Hendon, Eastbourne, Brentwood and Maidenhead. 

 

2005-2008 

At the beginning of 2005 I was approached by the directors of Fluid design Group to join their rapidly growing team in the Role of Senior architectural technician. During the three years I spent at Fluid Design I was involved In producing planning and construction drawings for a large variety of residential schemes varying from single houses to construction packages for sites of 135 houses and apartments, Including working with Affordable housing and listed buildings.

 

2002-2004

From 2002 until 2004 I worked as an architectural technician for Peter Taylor Associates in Uckfield, East Sussex. This role gave me the opportunity to gain experience of producing construction drawings and details for a number of the UK's largest property developers including Rydon Homes and St James Homes.

 

1999-2002

Having left education I was giving my first opportunity to work in an architectural environment within Honeygrove Properties Ltd in house architects department. Honeygrove Properties was principally a high end property developer with sites including Post Office Square, Tunbridge Wells and the Swaylands Estate in Penshurst. In addition to the development side of the business they also had an in house special projects team specialising the refurbishment and alteration of historic and listed buildings.
